Graphic Design

I started working in a small print shop in 1986. We used a small MacIntosh with a laser printer to print out masters for the copy machines. I’d say this was my start in graphic design. I did page layouts for flyers, presentations or just cut and paste sections to make edits. I was very creative in using whatever I could find to use as logos and images. Much the of the design work was by hand on paper like kids do in grade school but with professional results.

Later in the mid 90’s the printshop had obtained Procter & Gamble as a client. I made 100’s of presentations that were printed on transparencies for meetings. I was also tasked with the layouts of many training manuals. As software and printers improved we added highend graphic workstations and networked high speed Xerox laser color printers. Everything was becoming digital until the final print.

The shop also added a color wide format printer for posters. I quickly found that quality images were needed when scaled to 24″. After many years and a few thousand manuals, handouts, flyers, posters and presentations I became very confident in any desktop publishng program.

In 2003 I formed a new company called Maxx Graphix. This company focused on signs, banners and displays. I did many wall displays for museums, shopping malls, stadiums and airports. My focus was always on producing high quality artwork that when printed looked fantastic. Too many designers really don’t understand what it takes to go from screen to a display that is 144″ long and 8ft high.

Not only can I design your website, but I can design the flyers, posters and banners for your events. My specialty is information panels for museums. I have done a few thousand of these panels and know what it takes to create high quality prints for public display.
