Home Automation

“Alexa, turn on Living Room Lights.”

You have heard about this or perhaps started to setup some home automation. These systems are made up of electrical switches, a controller hub, your internet connection and Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home Kit. Amazon Alexa has a skill that you install in order to connect to a Lutron Casesta. This is a starter kit for as little as $100 that will come with a dimmer switch and a controller. Once installed and programmed, you will be able to voice control your lighting or use a phone app from anywhere. Schedules can also be made so your lights turn on/off automatically. These same actions can also be controlled via triggers such as motion sensors. For example, perhaps you want the kitchen lights to come on when you open the garage door. There are also Z-Wave switches that use another type of hub controller like Hubitat. Both of these are entry level affordable systems that can be expanded to meet most needs. Then there are systems like Control4. Control4 is a fully integrated system that can control lights, HVAC, Security, whole home audio / video. The sky is the limit.

I can help to setup or expand your system plus integrate many devices.
